Biman Bangladesh Airlines has formed a probe committee after some of its staffers hit the “aircraft passenger step" of the Gulf Air plane at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The incident took place on 16 November.
A top security official of the airport confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Wednesday midnight.
The three-member investigation committee comprising Biman Chief Engineer Kaiser Zaman , CSQ GM Nironjon Roy and Mohhaman Toffazzol Hossain Akhondo Deputy General Manager, GSE Maintenance, has been directed to complete the investigation within the next 15 working days and submit a report.
However, On November 22, a letter signed by the Biman Director (Admin) Siddiqur Rahman directed the probe committee to carry out an investigation and find out the accused staffer who had links with the incident.
A plane of the Gulf Airways suffered damage to its passenger steps.
Airport officials said the accident happened due to the carelessness of Biman staffers for not following the standard operating procedure.
An official of the Gulf Airways told the reporter that Biman will bear the repair cost for the damages.
