Govt sets new office hours

The government has decided to set office hours from 9am to 4pm, for all government, semi-government, autonomous, and semi-autonomous institutions.

The new office hours will be effective from November 15.

The decision was taken at the Cabinet meeting on Monday, said Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam.

The Supreme Court and Bangladesh Bank will fix their respective office hours, he said.

On August 22, the government rescheduled the office timing from 8am to 3pm for all the government and autonomous offices and from 9am to 4pm for all banks in a bid to save electricity amid the energy crisis.
