Food Minister: Police-public participation in good deeds increased

Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder said community policing has increased police and public cooperation in performing good deeds in the society.

The minister said this while inaugurating “Community Policing Day-2022” in the Naogaon Police Superintendent's office on Saturday. 

Referring to the role of the police in the Liberation War of 1971, the food minister said: “Police officers were those who shed blood and died fighting on the front lines in the war of 1971. They will, in my opinion, step out once more to help the nation” 

He further stated that the members of the community police are working in various activities including cooperation with the police, prevention of child marriage, prevention of evictions, suppression of militancy-terrorism, evil effects of drugs, torture of women and children, prevention of dowry, which are vitally important in maintaining social order.

The president of the parliamentary standing committee regarding the Ministry of Law and Parliamentary Affairs Shahiduzzaman Sarkar MP, Salim Uddin Tarafdar MP, Deputy Commissioner Md. Khalid Mehdi Hasan and Superintendent of Police Md Rashidul Haque were also present at that time.

The day is being celebrated across the country on Saturday with the theme "Peace and order everywhere as the motto of community policing".
