Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni on Friday said that education should be about becoming a good person rather than only obtaining degrees and certifications.
“This way, everyone can become a skilled and competent individual who can contribute to his or her life and to the country,” she said during a two-day workshop on strengthening ties between academic and industrial institutions and the travel and tourism sector.
Vice Chancellor of National University Prof Mashiur Rahman presided over the workshop, and Prof Mizanur Rahman from the Marketing Department, Dhaka University gave the keynote address.
When discussing the necessity for a mentality shift, Dipu Moni noted mental weakness should be overcome so that skilled manpower is created. The youth will be able to harness our potential both inside and outside of the country by doing this.
The minister added: "Combining theater and the performing arts with tourism will help this industry thrive."
Prof Mashiur Rahman stated: “We have no choice but to brand our own nation in reference to national branding. We must take action. We shall carry out this action for the good of the entire globe as well as our own.”
Branding, according to Prof Mizanur Rahman, is extremely effective when accompanied by a clear action plan.
