A SSC candidate from the Seventh-Day Adventist congregation in Kushtia is taking the tests scheduled on Saturday nights.
He received the special permission from the authorities as he is not allowed to participate any form of study until the sun is out according to his religious belief.
The SSC candidate, Albert Smith Bala arrives at the testing center in the morning on Saturdays and stays there until 7 o'clock in the evening. At that time he sits for the test.
Albert is a student of English version of Sun Up International School in Kushtia city. Students of this school are participating in the exam from Kushtia High School.
On days besides Saturdays, Albert participates in the exam with his peers during the day.
Albert said: “On Saturdays, I enter the centre in the morning with other students and stay in a separate room. Lunch is brought from home and there are amenities for resting. I sit in the centre room all day and gave the exam in the evening.”
According to Albert's father Suklal Bala, previously they were required to visit the board and take the test in the evening.
However, the administration has made sure that this arrangement exists in every district for the time being.
Khalilur Rahman, head teacher and center secretary of Kushtia High School, also confirmed this matter.
In 2019, a student named Ricky Halder also sit for the history exam under Jessore Board at night instead of the day. He also belonged to the Seventh Day Adventist Church. His examination was conducted at Kumarkhali MN High School Centre in Kushtia.
