The weather department has predicted showers across Bangladesh in 24 hours commencing 9am on Sunday.
“Light to moderate rains or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes are likely at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Khulna, Barisal and Rajshahi divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country,” the department said in its bulletin.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Besides, a low-pressure area is likely to form over North Bay and adjoining area in the next 72 hours, it added.
The Met office recorded the highest 69 mm of rainfall in Feni of Chittagong division in the last 24 hours till 6am on Sunday.
According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature was recorded in Rajshahi at 35.5°C while the minimum was 24.0°C in Feni of Chittagong.
Meanwhile, the axis of the monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh.
The bulletin said that one of its associated troughs extends up to Northwest Bay.
