Twin sisters at SSC test centre with their children

Two twin sisters came to the test centre at Sariakandi Government High School in Bogra with their children to sit for their SSC exams on Thursday.

The sisters, Umme Fatema and Umme Kulsum, said their parents married them off when the educational institutions across Bangladesh were closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to sources at the school, the sisters came to the exam centre with their two-month-old babies and left them with their relatives before taking the test.

The mother of the twin sisters said her husband had been struggling financially due to the pandemic, which was why they had to marry off their then-ninth-grader daughters.

Umme Fatema and Umme Kulsum afterwards said they hoped they would get good grades.
