A 17-year-old schoolboy was stabbed to death by some miscreants in Dhaka’s Shyampur area on Sunday.
The victim was identified as Md Nayan Islam, son of Kamrul Islam, of Jhajar village under Mohammadpur police station in Magura district. He was a ninth grader at RK Chowdhury School and College in the area.
Md Bachchu Mia, in-charge of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost, confirmed the incident.
He said the body was kept in the hospital morgue for an autopsy and the incident was reported to the concerned police station.
The deceased's father Kamrul Islam said his son went to Dholaipar Balur Math area around 2:30pm. He suffered serious wounds after being repeatedly stabbed by unidentified attackers.
He was later rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
