A Doha-bound Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight on Monday night returned to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport after a windshield cracked was noticed mid air.
A crack appeared in the windshield of Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner Akashbina when it was in the airspace of India’s Delhi.
The BG325 flight later made emergency landing at Dhaka airport with 272 passengers onboard.
Later, the passengers left for Doha on another flight at 11:23pm.
Confirming the matter, Tahera Khandkar, general manager (public relations) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, said the Biman authority always puts emphasis on the safety of passengers. As a result, the aircraft was brought back to Dhaka.
The windshield of the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner Akashbina (S2 AJS) is now being repaired in the aircraft hangar.
Earlier in February this year, a Boeing 737-800 aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines was grounded in Malaysia due to a crack in the windshield.
