Airport authorities on Sunday arrested a man reportedly for possession of 6,000 yaba pills.
Abdul Aziz, who landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on a Biman Bangladesh flight (BG-339), was arrested during security scanning at around 11:30pm.
On-duty AVSEC members detected yaba-like objects during the scan and searched his bag.
Around 6,000 pieces yaba pills were found neatly wrapped in 30 packets.
Abdul Aziz was then detained while his smartphone and bag were seized from him.
After confirming the pills as yaba the Department of Narcotics Control representative seized the drugs and arrested Abdul Aziz for further action.
The department is in the process of filing a case in this regard.
