The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against Sajjadul Islam, former joint secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, on the charges of amassing illegal wealth.
ACC Assistant Director Saiful Islam filed the case with Commission Integrated District Offices on Thursday.
The accused is currently the director of Planning and Development of Bangladesh Forest Industries Development Corporation (BFIDC).
According to the case statement, Sajjadul committed a punishable offence under sections 26 (2) and 26 (1) of 2004 as the commission found the information of Tk2.35 crore and he failed to show any source of Tk95.92 lakh while he was working in the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
An investigation was launched in this regard.
