The house of Bayezid Talha, a TikToker who was seen unscrewing nuts and bolts of the newly inaugurated Padma Bridge in a video, has allegedly been attacked.
The attack took place at about 5pm on Monday at Bayezid’s village home in Telikhali of Badarpur union in Patuakhali Sadar upazila.
Locals alleged that a section of Chhatra League was behind the attack.
Bayezid’s sister-in-law Hadisa Akhter said, “Some 10-12 youths on motorcycle entered the house with sharp weapons and ransacked the rooms of the house.”
She was alone at the time, Hadisa said, adding that she would be able to identify the miscreants.
Asked about the attack, Hridoy Ashish, former vice-president of Patuakhali District Chhatra League, said, “The Padma Bridge is a national asset. But Bayazid made a video of unscrewing nuts and bolts of the bridge. The general public is protesting against such behaviour.”
