Army troops patrolling Padma Bridge

The members of Bangladesh Army were seen patrolling the Padma Bridge to maintain law and order on Monday.

Pedestrians were banned from moving on foot on the bridge alongside the motorcycles.

Rashedul Amin, assistant director of the Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR) Directorate, termed the patrolling their regular duty.

Earlier on Sunday, the Bridges Division banned motorcycles on the bridge until further notice from 6am on Monday.

The decision was taken following the pressure of motorcycles and two people being killed in a crash on the first day of the bridge’s opening.
