Mawa-bound covered vans, trucks banned from Friday to Sunday

The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) and the police have banned the movement of covered vans and trucks on the roads and highways connected to the Padma Bridge from Friday morning to Sunday.

This decision has been taken on the occasion of the inauguration of Padma bridge, said Faruk Hossain, deputy commissioner of Public Relations and Media of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

He said that Mawa-bound covered vans and trucks from Dhaka metropolitan area to Munshiganj district have been requested to operate on the ferry in Paturia Daulatdia and Chandpur-Shariatpur routes from Friday to Sunday morning.

The BRTA requested everyone to avoid this route by advertising in the newspapers.
