TCB to start sales Wednesday for low-income families

The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) is set to start selling products on family cards from Wednesday till July 5.

However, the program will start on June 26 in Madaripur, Shariatpur, Gopalganj and Munshiganj districts,TCB spokesperson Humayun Kabir confirmed.

Sales activities will be suspended in the districts of Sylhet division for the time being due to the flood. The new date will be announced later considering the situation.

This time, family card holders will collect goods from dealer shops or designated establishments, not on trucks like before.

According to the TCB, on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, TCB products will be given to 10 million low-income families at a subsidized price under the direction of the prime minister. 

At this point, a consumer can buy a maximum of two litres of soybean oil, two kilograms of lentils and one kilogram of sugar.

Soybean oil will be sold at Tk110 per litre, sugar at Tk55 per kg and lentils at Tk 65 per kg.
