The first namaz-e-janaza of Serajul Alam Khan, one of the organizers of the Liberation War, was held on Saturday morning.
The funeral prayer was held at the south gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 10am.
His body will be taken to his ancestral home in Noakhali's Begumganj upazila where he will be buried after a third namaz-e-janaza.
He will be buried at his family graveyard in Alipur village.
Serajul Alam Khan, one of the greatest organizers of the Liberation War, passed away at the age of 82 while on life support in the intensive care unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Friday afternoon.
He was admitted to Samorita Hospital on Panthapath with respiratory issues and age-associated diseases on May 7. The politician was shifted to DMCH on May 20 on the advice of his doctors.
Serajul Alam Khan was born on January 6, 1941.
Also known as “Dada” or “Dadabhai," he is a political analyst, philosopher and writer.
