Serajul Alam Khan on life support

Serajul Alam Khan, one of the greatest organizers of the Liberation War, was put on life support in the intensive care unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital late on Thursday.

His personal secretary, Md Rubel Hawlader, said the veteran politician's family and well-wishers had asked for prayers from the countrymen for his speedy recovery.

DMCH Director Brig Gen Md Nazmul Haque said Serajul Alam Khan, who had been undergoing treatment in the ICU, was put on life support when his condition deteriorated.

Serajul Alam Khan, one of the founders of Swadhin Bangla Biplobi Parishad alias Nucleus, was admitted to Samorita Hospital on Panthapath with respiratory issues and age-associated diseases on May 7. The politician was shifted to DMCH on May 20 on the advice of his doctors.

Serajul Alam Khan was born on January 6, 1941.

Also known as “Dada” or “Dadabhai," he is a political analyst, philosopher and writer.
