Traffic movement suspended surrounding Bangabazar market

All roads surrounding Bangabazar market have been closed for traffic as a massive fire broke out in the market on Tuesday morning. 

The fire service is currently working to control the situation, with 48 units on the scene. To facilitate their efforts, all surrounding roads have been closed.

The road from High Court Square to Gulistan via Bangabazar, as well as the road from Gulistan to North South Road, have been closed for traffic. 

The Mayor Hanif flyover next to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital has also been closed. 

Local residents are being urged to come forward and help the fire service without creating obstacles on the roads.

Shahbagh police station Officer-in-Charge Noor Mohammad said that additional police have been deployed for security, and a joint support team of Bangladesh Army has been sent to control the fire. 

So far, no casualties have been reported.
