Former journalist Shohana Parveen Tuli, who was found dead at her flat on Wednesday, was laid to eternal rest in Jessore Sadar upazila on Thursday evening.
Shohana’s cousin Sumaiya Ruba said that the body was taken from Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital after autopsy to Jessore on an ambulance.
After the namaz-e-janaza, the body was buried at Hunshtala cemetery near Bakchar Jame Mosque in Jessore Sadar upazila.
Shohana’s body was found inside her flat in the capital’s Hazaribagh area on Wednesday.
Hazaribagh police station OC Moktaruzzaman had said that her death appeared to be a suicide.
Shohana Tuli, 38, hailing from the Battala area of Jessore Sadar upazila, had lived in Rayer Bazar of Hazaribagh since 2018.
She graduated from the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of Dhaka University. She worked at Amader Shomoy and Kaler Kantho newspapers. She worked at Bangla Tribune until 2020, before becoming an entrepreneur by opening an online shop.
Shohana Tuli was a member of Dhaka Union of Journalists and Sub-Editors Council.
