A Lalmonirhat court on Tuesday sentenced two members of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh to life imprisonment in an arms case filed in 2018.
Special Tribunal-1 Judge Md Mizanur Rahman handed down the sentence to Md
Hasan Ali alias Hossain Ali, 29, and Ashmot Ali alias Laltu, 28, both residents of Uttor Mushrot Madati village in Kaliganj upazila.
According to the prosecution, the Rapid Action Battalion in a drive detained a few JMB men with foreign pistols, magazines, detonators, sprinters, batteries and bomb-making materials at a primary school of the village on the night of October 30, 2018.
Police pressed charges against the two on January 1, 2020.
