A case has been filed against 32 leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) over Thursday's clash with Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) on the campus.
Mansura Alam, a student of the Department of Law at DU, filed the case wih court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shanto Islam Mallick on Sunday.
The court accepted the plaintiff's statement and directed the officer-in-charge of Shahbagh police station to investigate the case and submit a report by June 28, Plaintiff's lawyer Abul Kalam Khan confirmed the matter to Bangla Tribune.
According to the case, on Thursday, as a pre-announced central program of the JCD, the leaders and activists took out a procession from the Doel Chattar area of DU campus.
Later, the leaders and activists of various units of BCL attacked the procession.
At one stage, the Chhatra Dal men took shelter in the vicinity of Dhaka University when the leaders and activists of the Chhatra League attacked them again.
Many Chhatra Dal men were injured in the incident.
Besides, on Tuesday, Awami League and BNP’s student wings were locked in another fierce clash in the same area that left at least 31 people injured.
