Several areas of the country will see rainfall in 24 hours from Wednesday morning, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast, following nor’westers in different districts.
Rain or thundershowers with intense lightning flashes accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Chittagong divisions with hails at isolated places, the BMD said in its weather bulletin.
The weather may remain dry elsewhere, it added.
The mild heat wave sweeping over Rajshahi, Pabna, Jessore and Rangamati may abate, the BMD said, adding that day temperatures may fall by 1-2°C.
