The masterminds behind the killing of local Awami League leader Jahidul Islam Tipu and college student Samia Afrin Prity will be traced and brought to justice, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan has said.
“The people will be able to know about those involved in the killing once the investigation is complete”, he told reporters at an event in Dhaka on Saturday.

Police have yet to identify either of the two assailants.
Tipu’s wife Farzana Islam, a Dhaka city councillor from women’s reserve seat, did not name anyone in the case started with the police.
Police had arrested Tipu around a decade ago — when he was general secretary of the Motijheel unit of the Awami League — in a case filed over the 2013 killing of Jubo League leader Riazul Haque Khan Milky.
Although Farzana did not name anyone as suspects, in her case statement she mentioned that her husband had rivals in the party and that there was an “internal feud”.
Responding to a query on that, the home minister said: “I do not want to comment right now on whether the killing was political or not.”
No one involved in the killing, regardless of their identity, will be spared, he said.
