National Jute Day to be observed on March 6

The Ministry of Textiles and Jute will observe the National Jute Day 2022 on March 6 across the country aiming to highlight the bright potentials of the golden fiber and increase the use of jute and jute-based goods in local and international markets.

Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastigir Gazi said this while addressing a press conference at the ministry's conference room in the capital Thursday.

The main theme of this year's Jute Day is “Sonali Asher Sonar Desh, Paribeshbandab Bangladesh”.

The main program of the day will be held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium while a three-day Jute fair will also be held on Jute Diversification Promotion Centre (JDPC) premises from March 6 to March 8.

Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque will inaugurate the function as the chief guest.

Marking the Day, the ministry will award eleven persons and organizations this year for their outstanding contribution in research for developing the Jute sector and increasing export of Jute and jute goods.
