The sky will start clearing up from Sunday, allowing fog to enter the country through the northern region and making the weather cool down further, the Met Office has forecast.
A cold wave will sweep over Bangladesh and the country may see another rainy spell from January 23, Bangla daily Samakal quoted the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) as saying.
“The whole country will see clear skies on Sunday, which will likely be followed by another cold wave,” Meteorologist Khandaker Hafizur Rahman told the Bangla daily.
Meanwhile, weather expert Mostafa Kamal said the whole country, especially Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions, may experience downpour on January 23-25.
The BMD in its 9am weather bulletin on Saturday said light rain or drizzle is likely to occur at a few places in Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions and at one or two places in Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.
Nighttime temperatures may fall in the next five days, it said, adding that moderate to thick fog may occur at places over river basins, while light to moderate fog may occur elsewhere from midnight to morning.
The lowest temperature in the country on Saturday was recorded at 9 degrees Celsius in Tetulia of Panchagarh.
