Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said that BNP is the biggest obstacle for giving a democratic form in politics of Bangladesh.
BNP introduced the politics of murder in this country and that is why BNP is the only reliable refuge for communal forces, said Obaidul Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, on Wednesday.
BNP has played with the history of Bangladesh, he claimed at a virtual discussion organized by the party’s legal affairs sub-committee on the occasion of the National Mourning Day.

He said the killers would never have had such a big audacity had the BNP founder, Ziaur Rahman, not been involved in the August 15 carnage.
Regarding BNP chief Khaleda Zia's multiple fake birthday celebrations, Quader said: "BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir always gives nonsense answers without giving the correct information to this end."
Although the coronavirus pandemic has changed the whole world, the BNP did not change its character and its negative trend of politics, he added.
With sub-committee Chairman Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun in the chair, the discussion was attended, among others, by Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, Attorney General AM Amin Uddin, AL Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua and AL’s Legal Affairs Secretary Kazi Najibullah Hiru.
