Bangladesh has been seeing over 200 dengue cases every day since August 1, adding worries to the already overburdened health sector with Covid-19 patients.
Till now, as many as 10 suspected dengue deaths have been reported to the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).
However, the fatalities are yet to be reviewed and confirmed by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Meanwhile, more 224 dengue patients were hospitalized in the past 24 hours till Sunday morning.
Of the new dengue cases, 211 were reported in Dhaka while the remaining 13 were from outside the division, DGHS.
According to the DGHS, 946 patients are currently receiving treatment at different hospitals across the country.
Of them, 900 patients were reported to be admitted to hospitals in Dhaka and the rest in other divisions.

Some 4,543 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue since January and 3,587 of them have been released after they recovered.
Dengue fever was first reported in Bangladesh in 2000, claiming 93 lives that year. In the year that followed, the country learned to deal with the disease much better.
The fatalities had almost fallen to zero at one stage, before surging again in 2018, leading to a severe outbreak the following year.
‘DNCC officials will be active to eradicate dengue’
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Mohammad Atiqul Islam on Sunday said that the officials of his city including local councillors will remain active in the field until Aedes mosquitoes, dengue, and chikungunya (CHIKV) are completely eradicated.
The mayor was addressing a public awareness program on the prevention of Aedes mosquito, dengue, and chikungunya in the Beraid area of the capital, read a press release.
Atiqul said that to ensure a healthy environment, the slogan "Let's clean our homes for 10 minutes, every Saturday at 10am" should be implemented with the spontaneous participation of all.
The mayor said the most informative picture provider about the origin of the Aedes mosquitoes through the "Everyone's Dhaka" mobile app would be rewarded.
Emphasizing the proper implementation of the slogan "Mask Amar, Surokkha Sobar," he said, "In order to prevent the spread of Covid-19, each of us must properly follow government guidelines and hygiene rules, including wearing a mask."
