The second consignment of Covid-19 vaccine AstraZeneca from Japan will arrive in Bangladesh Saturday, officials say.
A freight of All Nippon Airways (ANA), containing 781,320 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, left Narita Airport at 22:40hrs (Japan Standard Time) on Friday. It is scheduled to reach Dhaka on Saturday.
Shahabuddin Ahmed, the Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan, saw off the second consignment.

The delivery is part of Japan's announced commitment of supplying over 3 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine in phases to Bangladesh under the Covax mechanism.
On July 24, Bangladesh received the first consignment of 245,000 AstraZeneca shots from Japan.
