Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended its flights to Medina, Kuwait, and Bangkok till May 31.

Biman will also not operate flights to Kolkata, Delhi, Muscat, Kathmandu, Manchester, and UAE until further notice, read the national flag carrier’s website on Sunday.

Biman was forced to cancel its flight on those routes on various grounds including travel restrictions from different countries due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune, Biman spokesperson Tahera Khondoker said: “However, we have started operating flights on the Dhaka-Rajshahi-Dhaka route from today [Sunday].”

Meanwhile, contacted, a Biman official, seeking anonymity, said that the move to extend flight suspension comes following a shortage of passengers.

“If Biman were to operate flights on these routes, it would face losses,” he added
