Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday provided Tk10 crore to two separate funds for helping Covid-hit people and the rehabilitation of landless and homeless people of the country.
The premier provided the financial assistance from the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Trust.
Of the amount, Tk5 crore was given to the assistance fund for the Corona-hit people, while another Tk5 crore to Ashrayan Project for the rehabilitation of landless and homeless people.
Sheikh Hasina has provided Tk10 crore at her own initiative, said her Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim.
Sheikh Hasina urged the affluent section of society to come forward in aid of the poor and destitute.
