Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Sylhet, and Dhaka divisions and at one or two places over Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions with hail at isolated places.
A mild to moderate heat wave was sweeping over the Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions and the regions of Sitakunda, Rangamati, Noakhali, Feni, Moulvibazar, Rajshahi, and Pabna, and it may abate.
Day temperatures may fall by 1°C - 3°C and night temperatures may fall slightly over the country, a met office release said here today.
The country’s maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 39.8°C in Jessore and today’s minimum temperature was recorded at 21°C in Tarash.
Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded at 29 millimeters (mm) in Tangail.
