A total of Tk14.49 crore has been allocated in favor of 473 upazila health complexes to ensure health services at the grassroots of the country including Dhaka.
The allocation was made from the quarantine expenditure of the secretariat in the revised budget of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for the fiscal year 2020-21, read a press release published by Md Maidul Islam chief senior information officer of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The money would be used for equipment and logistics support for the management of Covid-19 patients, diet for patients admitted to Coronavirus Isolation Hospitals, supplies of medicines, gauze, bandages and cotton, chemical re-agents (including X-ray film, ECG paper), oxygen and other gas supplies.
A letter to this effect was issued on Sunday afternoon through a circular signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Sushil Kumar Pal, Department of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
