Two motorcyclists were killed when a bus collided head-on with a motorcycle in the Mathiura Tea Garden area of Rajnagar upazila in Moulvibazar.
The deceased were identified as Sujan Karmakar and Rajan Roy. A third man named Dipen Das was injured in the same incident. The victims were from Rajnagar upazila.
Quoting locals, police said a motorcycle collided head-on with a Dhaka-bound Mitali Paribahan bus on the Moulvibazar-Kulaura road at Mathiura Tea Garden area of Rajnagar around 12pm on Friday, killing a motorcyclist Sujan Karmakar on the spot.
Two more men riding on the same motorcycle were rescued and taken to Sadar Hospital in Moulvibazar, where Rajan Roy was declared dead by the duty doctor.
Meanwhile, critically injured Dipen Das was undergoing treatment.
Rajnagar police station OC Abul Hashem said the bus driver Jony Miah was detained.“The bus was seized and brought to the police station soon after the incident.”
