The SKS Shopping Mall, the largest and most sophisticated project of the Sena Kalyan Sangstha, has been officially inaugurated.
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Md Atiqul Islam inaugurated the mall on Sunday morning, according to a press statement.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by SKS Chairman Maj Gen Mohammad Saidul Islam and other senior military and civilian officials, among others.
The multipurpose mall has an estimated 450,000 sq-ft area, with centrally air-conditioned office space and shopping stores. The car parking facilities can accommodate 450 cars.
There is also a food court and multiplex cinema on the fourth floor of this shopping mall.
SKS, a welfare organization, markets a wide range of quality products at a fair price, including cement, LP gas, edible oil, and food.
The money earned by the SKS covers the expenses of various welfare activities such as medical treatment, education, distress allowance, widow allowance, and training for members of the military services and their families.
Formed in 1953, the organization was rebranded as Sena Kalyan Sangstha from the Army Welfare Foundation through a gazette notification in 1972, under the direction of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
