Rajuk shuts down 2 schools in Dhanmondi

A team of led by Rajuk Executive Magistrate Nasiruddin ordered to shut down a new branch of Sunnydale and Earth House Alternative in the drive that began around 11:30am on Wednesday. The schools are housed in two separate residential buildings on the same plot. Rajuk executive magistrate told the Dhaka Tribune: “The schools are housed in residential buildings. We did not find any official of Sunnydale, so we asked the owner of buildings Sabbir Ahmed to convey the information to the school authorities. He said Sabbir owns the other school-- Earth House Alternative. “We gave him 15 days to relocate the school,” Nasiruddin said. They also disconnected the gas and eletricity connection of the two buildings. He also said another eviction drive is going on in Gulshan 1. The eviction drive is continuing for the third day in Dhanmondi. A restaurant named Dhaba was evicted on the second day of the drive while the shutters of a super shop, a restaurant, two Juba League offices and a retail outlet were demolished on the first day of the drive.
