8 workers burnt in Savar textile mill fire

Eight workers have suffered burn injuries in a fire at Pakija Textile Mill in Saver. Three of the injured workers are Shahidul, Mirajul, and Saiful. Of them, Saiful’s condition is stated to be critical. He was referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. At least 12 others were also injured in the incident on Thursday night. They were admitted to a local clinic and Enam Medical College and Hospital. Masudur Akand, assistant director of fire service headquarters, said the fire originated from the chemical warehouse of the factory around 8pm. Being informed, 12 fire fighting units rushed to the spot and took the fire under control after three hours of hectic effort. The reason behind the fire is yet to be known, said the fire service official.
