The Health Ministry has suspended Dr Sabrina Sharmin Hussain, a cardiac surgeon of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, following her arrest over the Covid-19 test scam involving JKG Healthcare.
In the official order on Sunday, Health Services Secretary Abdul Mannan that she breached the service rules by serving as a chairman in a private organization without permission.

Describing it as a punishable offence, the statement also noted her alleged involvement with fake Covid-19 test reports.
Earlier in the day, police formally arrested the doctor, known as Sabrina Arif Chowdhury, after she was quizzed at the Tejgaon Division office of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
