Thirty-three Bangladeshis, cast adrift in the Bay of Bengal by a severe cyclonic storm, have been rescued by an Indian Navy ship.
All survivors are from Moheskhali, the Indian High Commission said in a statement on its official Facebook page on Wednesday.
The body of an unidentified victim was also recovered.
Offshore patrol vessel INS Sumitra started the search and rescue operations, in coordination with the Bangladesh Navy, on Wednesday.

INS Sumitra is also carrying disaster relief material.
“Once the search and rescue operations are completed or are taken over by Bangladesh Navy, INS Sumitra will sail to Chittagong to disembark the relief stores,” the Facebook post added.
