129 more Bangladeshis return from Indonesia

Another 129 Bangladesh citizens have returned home from Indonesia, where they were stranded for several months due to the Covid-19 forced flight suspension.

A special chartered flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) from Jakarta, around 7pm on Tuesday.

Tahera Khondoker, deputy general manager (public relations) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.

Earlier on May 11, a special chartered flight of Lion Air brought back 148 Bangladeshi nationals from the country.

“The state-run airlines has operated over 90 flights and carried over 9,000 passengers till now amid the coronavirus outbreak,” said Tahera.

According to airport sources, Biman currently has scheduled flights to Wuhan, Dubai, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Maldives, Riyadh, London, Canton, Male, Doha, and Rome among other destinations.
