The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has asked three private hospitals in Dhaka to arrange all facilities to provide Covid-19 treatment to Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) members and their families.
DGHS Director (Hospital) Md Aminul Hasan issued a letter to the authorities concerned of the hospitals in this regard on June 18.
The hospitals are Anwer Khan Modern Medical College Hospital, Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital, and East West Medical College and Hospital in Uttara.
According to the letter, many lawyers of the SCBA and their family members are being infected with the deadly contagious virus and many of them have failed to access the required medical services.
Therefore, upon an application submitted by the association Secretary, Md Ruhul Quddus Kazal, the DGHS authorities directed the three hospitals to initiate procedures to provide treatment to them, the letter read.
Covid-19, a severe acute respiratory illness caused by a new strain of coronavirus, has claimed 1,343 lives and infected 102,292 people across the country as of June 18.
