77 more Bangladeshis return from India

Another 77 Bangladeshi citizens have returned home from India on a special Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight.

These nationals were stranded in India for over two months due to flight suspensions enforced amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

Of the returnees, 70 were adult passengers, and 7 infants, who came from Chennai on a chartered Biman flight.

"The special flight of Biman landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) at 6:10pm on Tuesday," said Tahera Khondoker, deputy general manager (public relations) of Biman.

After screening at the airport, all were sent for home quarantine, said an airport health official.

As per government decision, all returnees are scheduled to remain in 14-day institutional or home quarantine if they fail to show a medical certificate that they have tested negative for Covid-19.
