Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said district level cottage industries, markets and small enterprises can be reopened by ensuring the health safety of the public on the holy month of Ramadan, ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The premier made the statement while addressing a video conference with representatives and officials of the districts of Rangpur division, on Monday morning.
The video conference was aired live on state and private television channels from the prime minister's official residence, Ganabhaban.
"Some industries and factories will be opened to prevent an economic crisis. They all should maintain health guidelines to be protected from Covid-19,” said Sheikh Hasina.
The premier also said the government has already started opening some shops for the holy month of Ramadan, ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. However, everyone should be careful and not form crowds.
“More details will soon be declared by the Cabinet Division regarding this matter ,” the premier added.
