Biman Bangladesh Airlines has sent four of its pilots and 14 crew members to home quarantine after their flight returned to Bangladesh from Tokyo.

Earlier, the team of the state-run national carrier went to Tokyo carrying some 337 Japanese citizens from Bangladesh, returning home on Friday.

Touhid Ul Ahsan, director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA), said the pilot, cabin crew and other staff were asked to remain in home quarantine by health officials at the airport, following which they were sent on a 14-day home quarantine.

HSIA officials said a total of 22 people had been sent into quarantine. Among them were four pilots, 14 cabin crew, an officer of ground service traffic, a staff of flight operations and two employees of the engineering department.
