Bangladesh has been ranked 71 in the latest edition of an English proficiency index.
The Education First (EF) English Proficiency Index attempts to rank countries by their average level of English language skills by drawing conclusions from data collected through English tests available online for free.

Bangladesh ranking 71 globally, also fared low regionally, with India finding itself at 34, Pakistan at 54, and Nepal at 66, according to the report published on EF's website.
Netherlands, Sweden, and Norway ranked first, second, and third respectively, while Saudi Arabia, Kyrgyzstan, and Libya rounded off the list at 98, 99, and 100 respectively.
The ninth edition of the report analyzed the results of 2.3 million adults in 100 territories who took the English tests in 2018.
