Ashkona raid: Bodies of suspected militants hand over for burial

The bodies of two suspected militants killed in a drive at Ashkona have been handed over to Anjuman Mofidul Islam. Police handed over the bodies to Anjuman Mofidul Islam’s duty officer Ruhul Amin around 11:45am on Tuesday. Ruhul Amin said: "The bodies will be buried in Jurain graveyard." He said: "These two militants could not be identified nor were their bodies claimed by anyone. So they were handed over Anjuman Mofidul Islam for burial." A 35-year old woman and a 14-year-old boy were killed in the Ashkona raid on December 24. The woman detonated a suicide vest and the teenager died from splinter injuries. The raid led to the capture of two female militants and the rescue of three children. Dhaka Metropolitan Police's CTTC unit Inspector Saidur Rahman said: "The bodies were preserved in Dhaka Medical College morgue."
