Kazi Nabil MP: Bangladesh to uproot militancy

While observing the 47th Independence Day of Bangladesh, MP Kazi Nabil Ahmed said under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Bangladesh will be a terrorism and militancy free nation to maintain the spirit of the 1971 Liberation War. He made the statement while addressing the Independence Day homage in Jessore city’s Monihar cinema hall area on Sunday. He also said: “Today Bangladesh is an independent nation due to the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.” After placing wreaths on the victory monument, Kazi Nabil Ahmed administered an oath to the Awami league leader. Various political parties, administrations, socio-cultural organisations and educational institutions also observed the day by placing wreaths on the victory monument’s altar to pay tribute to the Liberation War martyrs. The party’s district president Shahidul Islam Milon, Vice-President SM Kamruzzaman Chunnu, local leaders and freedom fighter Haider Gani Khan Polash along with other leaders were present during the homage. Earlier, Jessore Deputy Commissioner Humayun Kabir, Police Super Anisur Rahman, along with leaders from BNP, Bangladesh Workers' Party, Communist Party of Bangladesh, Jessore University of Science and Technology, MM Sultan Fine Arts College, Jessore Institute, Jessore Union of Journalists and a few other organisations paid respect to the Liberation War martyrs. Law enforcers and students held a parade at Shams-ul-Huda stadium in Jessore early morning.
