14-party alliance to hold anti-militancy rallies

The Awami League-led 14-party alliance will hold two rallies in Natore and Bogra to as a part of the alliance's stand against militancy, terrorism and communal unrest in the country.
The rally in Natore will take place in Gurudashpur upazila on July 22 and the rally in Bogra will be held in Dhunat upazila on July 23.
Central leaders of the alliance will address the anti-militancy rallies while members of civic society, various social and cultural organisations, intellectuals and professionals will join them, according to a press release issued yesterday.
Health and Family Minister Mohammad Nasim, who is also the alliance's spokesperson, asked all to participate in the rallies and urged activists and leaders of the alliance to be on constant move to curb militancy by forming committees around the country at district, upazila, union and village levels.
Sources said leaders of local units of the alliance have already started to form anti-militancy committees on “militancy and terrorism elimination” to fight against all sorts of subversive activities in the country.
Meanwhile, addressing a programme at Bangla Academy in Dhaka yesterday, Awami League Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak has asked for cooperation from all to identify militant bases.
