Bangladesh, US agree to work in four sectors

Speaking to reporters soon after meeting US Ambassador to Bangladesh Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat at his office, the minister said the two countries also agreed upon working together to protect democracy and enhance sustainable development. “The media has an important role to play when the world is facing the challenge of terrorism,” Inu said. “That is why it is important to build on the commonalities. We have discussed the issues of common interest with the United States.” Describing the US as a close ally of Bangladesh, politically and economically, he said: “We will work in all the four areas identified.” Speaking to reporters, the US ambassador said: “We have discussed the issue of the mass media and its development. This is a sector where there is scope for improvement in all countries of the world. We have discussed ways and means to enhance cooperation in the sector.”
