The Prime Minister's Office has issued a warning urging the public not to be misled by false news stories about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina published online.
A press note issued on Thursday urged everyone not to be confused about “fake news, being spread by multiple news portals on behalf of a vested quarter.”
The note, signed by the prime minister’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim, also claimed that these vested quarters are attempting to confuse “the innocent demonstrating students and people of the country by publishing ‘distorted, fake, and fabricated’ news using the good name of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in different news portals.”
The PMO office confirmed that these so-called news items are baseless.
