A group of BNP leaders and activists allegedly attacked Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy in London.
The incident took place in front of the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster Wednesday afternoon.
Arif came under attack when he tried to stop the BNP men from holding a demonstration there.
Leaders and activists of BNP held the demonstration, protesting the visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to the country, where she went to attend the 25th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
Meanwhile, some other leaders of the party rescued and protected Arif from the angry mob.
London police detained two people in this connection.
